Dr Vani Khare, Co-Convenor

Vani is a woman who lives by the philosophy that ‘one dreams, because one has power to achieve.’ She is a scientist by education and humanitarian worker by choice. Three years back, she founded a social change organization Faith Foundation in India and has recently started another, Sanrakshan Pte Ltd in Singapore.

These organizations focus on ensuring sexual safety of children and adolescent, while raising awareness towards existence of child sexual abuse in society – a heinous crime, often brushed under the carpet. Vani and her team has been tirelessly working with children from various geographies, culture and background to achieve the vision of safe childhood. She also coaches adolescent girls and women to make informed choices towards their emotional and sexual well being in order to achieve gender harmony.

Vani has also raised her voice and spoken about issues concerning women and children such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, subtle sexism and gender bias and inequality on various forums.

Before choosing the path of social entrepreneurship, she was working as a senior scientist in a corporate firm. She led a bunch of young scientists to design HIV/AIDS diagnostic devises for developing countries.

Amidst her scientific and social entrepreneurship journey, she also started her career as writer. Currently she writes screenplays for TV. Her TV series ‘Secrets of Womanhood Season 1’ (aired on channel Colors in 17 countries) was about voicing out the unspoken, unheard and unnoticed issues often faced by women. The series became very popular in Singapore and will be soon renewing for Season 2. She has also done research and written the Screenplay of a travelogue show called ‘Subah Ki Chai’ (Aired on Channel Colors in 17 countires).

Jo-Anne Aeria

Jo-Anne left the corporate world in 2012 to follow her commitment to helping the most vulnerable of children. She has worked with children affected by conflict, natural disasters and those living on the extreme edges of poverty in areas like Timor Leste, Banda Aceh and along the Thai-Burma border.

Jo-Anne Aeria sees herself as an outgoing and fun-loving person with a strong desire to make an impact on people and communities that she connects with through her professional and voluntary work.

She spent her formative years overseas and studied in various international schools before returning to settle back and work in Singapore. She comes from a retail operations and training background having worked for several multinational corporations like the clothing retailer Esprit Pte Ltd and for Dickson Trading Pte Ltd. Her last role was as the Asia Pacific Regional Values Manager at The Body Shop (AP) Pte Ltd to oversee their corporate social responsibility programmes.

After leaving the corporate world 4 years ago, Jo-Anne took on contract work at 2 local charitable organizations, the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) and the Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics (HOME). She has also worked for a UK based child rights charity called Children on the Edge as their Asia Pacific Administrative consultant, spending several years engaged in the communities of East Timor and Banda Aceh, Indonesia to monitor their programmes to rebuild and rehabilitate the lives of marginalized children.

Jo-Anne now works as a freelance training consultant helping develop and facilitate workshops for organizations such as Timberland Singapore, Simply Bread Pte Ltd and Future Moves Group. She holds a Diploma in Human Resource Development from the Singapore Institute of Management and a Diploma in Social Service from the Social Service Institute. Jo-Anne volunteers annually in Mysore, South India, with a charity working to help street children gain access to protection and education.

Having lived overseas for more than 15 years during her youth and having explored both developed and developing nations, she sees travel as a way of opening her eyes to the different colours the world has to offer, both bright and dim. She hopes to continue to engage in communities for as long as she can to help those in need.

S.Vanithadevi

Vanitha is the founder of Style Etiquette Pte Ltd , a Style And Beauty Coach and a Certified Etiquette consultant in Singapore.

Vanitha had vast rich experience working in private sectors for over 17 years. With this, she has gained invaluable experience from the basics of secretarial duties, underwriting expertise, office administration and human resource. Having worked with a MNC, dealing with numerous multinational clients, she has developed strategic insights into diverse business cultures and settings. This is an edge in complementing in helping corporations build and enhance their corporate image.

Vanitha is also an avid lover in the beauty line, she has been a consistent participant for many of Singapore’s prestigious beauty pageants. This is also in line with her passion to meet more women to share beauty , charisma, elequonce and most importantly the bring out women that beauty and intelligence comes hand in hand. She is a crowned winner of Mrs Singapore India 2013. A finalist for Mrs Singapore Universe 2013. And the latest being awarded Asia Pacific Queen of Substance 2014. Vanitha has continued to share her rich experience to all future beauty pageant queens ; being a judge, style & image trainer, grooming & etiquette trainer.

With her passion to style and coach people to look their best, together with her business and training background, Vanitha believes in providing effective Professional Image Management Programmes for corporate organizations. These trainings/workshops aim to highlight the importance of effective image management to gain an edge in the highly visual and competitive business world. As she puts in plainly, she is born to do all these and many more.

Joyce Kingsly

Joyce is the Founder and Chairperson of LISHA Women’s Wing(LWW) a sub committee of Little India Shopkeepers & Heritage Association formed in 2012. She decided to do something extra-ordinary to connect the ladies in Singapore through her unique monthly networking and awareness programmes. Since then LWW has conducted 90 events under her leadership.She is also the co-chairperson of the Singapore Indian Chamber of CCommerce - Women Entrempreneur Network (SICCI-WEN). Joyce owns an import & wholesale distribution company and is also a certified and registered etiquette & image Trainer running CREATING 'A' CLASS CORPORATES as CEO & Founder.

Having the passion to serve the community, Joyce has been a Grassroots leader for more than five years in Community Emergency Engagement (C2E) and was also invited to sit in the top most Citizen Consultative Committee (CCC). Further she has been very active in the local community activities through a variety of positions and roles that she has assumed from time to time. Highly sought by media, she was featured as most inspiring women in Tamil Murasu on International Women's Day 2013.

Dr. Rohini Devi

Puan Sri Associate Professor Dr. Rohini Devi is the Deputy Vice Chancellor and the Vice Chairman of Binary University, Malaysia. She is an Associate Professor in the field of entrepreneurship and has been serving the University for the past 20 years. She is currently carrying out research in the field of women entrepreneurship and women leadership. She is also one of the editorial committee of the International Journal of Management and Entrepreneurship.

Puan Sri Associate Professor Dr. Rohini currently holds the position of Head of the Centre for Women Leadership (CWL) where she was one of the founding members of this Centre which was established in 2011. Her role is to contribute and promote research that helps the empowerment of women globally. She also sits on the Award Committee of CWL. Dr. Rohini is also the founding member of the Binary Global Scholarship Fund which provides scholarship to deserving international students to pursue postgraduate programs at Binary University. The Royal Patron of BGS is HRH Tuanku Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, the current Sultan of Kedah.

Puan Sri Associate Professor Dr. Rohini Devi is also a very charitable person serving as the secretary general of KIWANIS Putra Jaya for over 15 years.Puan Sri’s main focus is to assist underprivileged women especially among the B40 group to up-skill and help transform their micro enterprises into successful SME’s thus supporting the government’s vision of producing more high income earners.

Datin Jessica Tong is a successful Malaysia-based entrepreneur. As the editor-in-chief of “Asia Success Inc. Branding Magazine”, she is a pragmatic woman who has a positive attitude and capability to learn every day.
